Transitioning to a circular glass economy is essential to eliminate this climate impact. TNO and Brightlands Materials Center are paving the way for a one hundred percent circular window. The process starts with the careful disassembly of old insulating glass units. Once separated, we investigate the quality of the recovered plates, analyzing glass type and defects to map out the exact reuse potential for each pane.
To guarantee true circularity of safety glass, we look ahead to the next end-of-life phase and develop new solutions for separating laminated glass.
