From Recyclable to Reliable: Scaling Circular Thermoplastic Composites

Connecting Europe’s Ecosystem

When? Thursday, 12 February 2026, 10:00 – 16:00 !
Where?  Thor Central, André Dumontlaan 67, Genk, Belgium

Circularity as a business opportunity
The circular transition of thermoplastic composites is no longer only a sustainability discussion. It is rapidly becoming a strategic lever for competitiveness, resilience, and value creation in European industry. That is why Agoria, Brightlands Materials Center, and Sirris are hosting the first edition of a cross-border, expert-driven event focused on scaling circular thermoplastic composites from recyclable to reliable, industrial solutions.

This unique gathering will bring together industry leaders, technology providers, researchers, and end-users from Belgium, the Netherlands, and beyond to:

  • Exchange insights on fiber-reinforced thermoplastic recycling
  • Translate circular ambitions into robust business cases
  • Share inspiration and lessons learned for the thermoset recycling industry
  • Build and strengthen a cross-border circular ecosystem
  • Lay the foundation for a recurring annual event, alternating between Belgium and the Netherlands

Program:

09:30 Walk in
10:00 Session 1

  • Thomas Wegman (EuCIA) – European Circular Composites Alliance
  • Thorsten Friedrich (Auto Recycling Nederland) – Circular value chains in practice

10:50 Break
11:00 Session 2

  • Hans Luinge (SpiralRTC) – Innovative recycling technologies
  • Veerle Van Steen (Agoria) – Waste legislation in Belgium & European ELV Directive

11:50 Break
12:00 Interactive session with panel
13:00 Lunch
14:00 Session 3

  • Michaël Callens (Rein4ced) – Incorporating recycled materials in high-performance applications
  • Sandeep Kulkarni (SABIC) – Thermoplastics & circular material solutions
  • Amandine Codou (BMC-TNO) – Valorization of post-consumer thermoplastics and glass fibers waste

15:15 – 16:00 Closing & Networking

The program will combine expert keynotes, interactive discussions, and a moderated panel session exploring concrete opportunities for circular thermoplastic composite value chains (including automotive recycling use cases).
